{guest post!} collagen moisture filler – review

Happy Friday! I’m excited to feature another guest post today! My friend Marisol of Ordinary Life is Extraordinary discusses facial moisturizer, does some experimentation and brings us the results. I’m obsessed with moisturizing, especially with the cooler months coming up, so I loved her new find! Have a great weekend and enjoy! ♥channing

For 6 years, I have used the Hope in a Jar moisturizer from Philosophy and I have loved it. I love that it has a whipped texture and goes on so smoothly. My skin eats it up. It leaves my skin so well hydrated and looking great. One thing that led me to this moisturizer is that it doesn’t have a lot of harsh chemicals and that it exfoliates. I don’t know if this happens to some of you. Sometimes I feel when I use a product for a long time that, after a while, I stop seeing the results I saw when I first started using it. This is what I started seeing with this moisturizer. I also started using this product when I was in my late 20s. I am now in my mid 30s and, well, I think I need a little bit more help with the fine wrinkles that are showing up and also with evening out of color.  I wasn’t completely unsatisfied with it. I just wanted to see if I got better results with something else.

I thought that I would try something over the counter. I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on something that wasn’t going to work on me. I chose the L’Oreal Collagen Moisture Filler. It retails for around $12.

I have now used this new moisturizer for a little over a month. I have seen great results. I put it on after the When Hope is Not Enough Serum. I have been using in the morning and at night. This is the first time I have used any product that has collagen in it. It smells great and has a nice creamy texture. Click here for a more in depth description. In the past month, I have gotten many compliments on how nice my skin looks. I have to say my skin is looking great. The tone has evened out, it’s brighter and the texture is a lot smoother. When winter comes, I don’t know if it will give me the moisture I need, so I might switch back to Hope in a Jar and use L’Oreal collagen moisturizer exclusively as a night cream.

After doing this, I am going to be more open-minded about finding beauty products at the drugstore.

  1. Didnt I discuss my obsession with winter moisturizing with you last week. :) Besides adding Jojoba drops on my face right after my shower (when face is still moist)…I am trying a new product YONKA PAMPLEMOUSSE http://www.yonka.com
…I’ll try it tonight (but normally I try drugstore brands as well)

  2. This might be worth a try, especially after reading a recent article in Glamour about women eating Ramen noodles so they can splurge on face creams like La Mer. Can it EVER be acceptable to spend $975 on 8 oz. of moisturing creme?!
