Green tea is amazing for health and well being and I’m always trying to find new and tasty ways to enjoy it. The green tea varieties available are great to keep the pantry interesting [tropical and pomegranate are two faves], but I really love to brew up a large batch, add ice, and sass it up with some fruit, mint, cucumbers and a little club soda for a fizz. When infused overnight in the fridge, it has a lovely subtle fruit flavor. Spa water is fun to have around the house and is a fab way to get your daily green tea dose.
Listed below is everything you see in the photos above, but get creative with any fruit you have at home. I suggest mint, cucumbers and orange slices to start, and then mix and match to your taste preference.
green tea spa water fizz
4 cups water
4 green tea bags
large handful fresh mint leaves
1/4 cup fresh blueberries
1/4 cup fresh blackberries
1/4 cup orange segments, peel removed
1/4 cup lime segments, peel removed
1/4 cup cucumber slices, peel removed
1-2 cups club soda
orange, cucumber, and/or lime slices for garnish
Boil the water in medium pot, turn off heat, then add green tea bags. Steep green tea according to package directions. Remove and discard tea bags when complete. Let the brewed tea sit until cool. Can add ice if low on time.
Transfer the cooled tea to a large pitcher, add all remaining ingredients, and top off with 1-2 cups club soda depending on how bubbly you like it and how much room remains in pitcher. Pour in fun glasses and add garnish of choice. I do not add sweetener, but you can add simple syrup or any finely granulated sweetener [so it completely dissolves] for a sweeter treat. Enjoy!
