winter pear margarita + chile piquin fruit

Hello fall! As the end of the boiling hot DC summer arrives, I am usually already dreaming of pumpkin flavored goodies. And now that my favorite month of October is here, I couldn’t be happier. Pumpkin Spice Lattes, autumn spice cupcakes, and savory-spicy everything!

Just imagine my joy when I went to brunch with DB {“Dinnering Beau”} to Oyamel and their Penn Quarter Farmer’s Market Margarita was, as our waiter described, a winter pear marg with cinnamon, nutmeg, fresh lemon, lime + pineapple juices with Milagro reposado tequila. He had me at cinnamon + nutmeg in a marg! The warm fall flavors mixed with the bright fruit juices was a delish pairing! Shown in photo here topped off with adorable edible mini flowers and lime.

What made the morning perfect was my fave brunch item: the Ensalada de frutas fresca {fresh tropical and local fruits served with chile piquin seasoned lime}. The chile piquin seasoned lime paired with the fresh seasonal fruit is an over the top sensory experience. Spicy + sweet = so scrumptious!
